HYBRID
EPOXY POWDER
(Interior Tank Coating System)
Surface
Preparation
- Tank
parts are steel shot blasted to near white finish per (SSPC-SP10)
with a nominal 2 mill profile
- Parts
receive an iron phosphate wash, followed by a recycled water rinse,
a fresh water rinse, and a de-ionized water rinse.
- Cleaned,
blasted parts are to be oven-dried.
Interior Coating
-
One Electrostatic spray application of NSF Standard 61 and FDA
accepted hybrid epoxy powder, Farboil LP 3992-6 (or equal).
- Coating
to have 5.0 mils minimum DFT
Curing and Shipping
- Backing
oven to be used for final cure.
- All
coated parts shall be inspected prior to shipment.
- Coated
tank components are to be handled with care to minimize coating
damage during transit, offloading and erection.
Inspection & Testing
- Conduct
thorough visual inspection of all submerged surface.
- Touch
up paint with instructions shall be included for application by
authorized erection crew.

POLYESTER POWDER
(Exterior
Tank Coating)

- Tank
parts are steel shot blasted to near white finish per (SSPC-SP10)
with a nominal 2 mill profile
- Parts
receive an iron phosphate wash, followed by a recycled water rinse,
a fresh water rinse, and a de-ionized water rinse.
- Cleaned,
blasted parts are to be oven-dried.
Exterior Coating
- One
Electrostatic spray application of TGIC polyester powder, Farboil
7P-3596-7 (or equal).
- Coating
to have 3.0 mils minimum DFT
Curing and Shipping
- Backing
oven to be used for final cure.
- All
parts are to be marked or tagged with part mark and order number
for field assembly requirements.
- All
coated parts shall be inspected prior to shipment.
- Coated
tank components are to be handled with care to minimize coating
damage during transit, offloading and erection.
- Touch
up paint with instructions shall be included for application by
authorized erection crew.
